'Watching the Tide Come In' Oil, Oil Pencil, Cornish Yellow Ochre and Mediums

'Watching the Tide Come In' Oil, Oil Pencil, Cornish Yellow Ochre and Mediums
‘Watching the Tide Come In’ is one of two larger pieces at 60 by 50cm from my ‘Liminal’ series where I was exploring the space held between presence and absence. How someone who’s passed can be as alive to us as ever through still moments throughout the day- moments that linger for an instant or a lifetime.
This collection is about being in the transitional state between dreaming and being awake, the suspension this space can hold, revealing what was already known but somehow forgotten, offering a moment of stillness, an invitation to pause, a chance to catch your breath and be fully present in the here and now.
