'Threshold' Oil on Wood Panel

'Threshold' Oil on Wood Panel
This 60x45cmcm oil painting is called, ‘Threshold’, with a gentle and soft colour palette, repeated organic arc lines, inspired by the arches at Smeaton’s pier in St. Ives. Inside this space, I drew shapes and lines and then back in my garden studio I painted the memory of being there. The colours of this piece remind me of the clear waters and colours of the lichens and rocks.
This piece is part of my 'Liminal' series where I am exploring the space between spaces, that gap is exciting for me and what emerges are repeated arc shapes, arc lines and also vertical sections which are perhaps doorways, veils or thresholds, a space between places.
Image size approx 60cm by 45cm (approx 65cm by 49cm professionally framed in a solid wood tray frame).
