'Ocean Embrace' Oil and Cornish Earth Pigments on Board

'Ocean Embrace' Oil and Cornish Earth Pigments on Board
£675.00
This 40 by 60cm oil painting is from the ‘Between two waves’ series, using lines from TS Eliot’s poem Little Gidding as a starting point.
‘Not known, because not looked for
But heard, half-heard, in the stillness
Between two waves of the sea.’
I intuitively added layers of oil paint over several weeks, the cell-like shapes emerged, akin to the way the ocean can hold space for us. The peeled-back layers of paint effect reminds me of sea-worn boats.
