This 76cm painting is called, ‘Sea of tranquillity’ and was inspired by the colours of the water on a grey showery day while walking with my family and we spotted the moon between the clouds. I sketched the movement of water, listening to its sounds and noticed the birds flying around overhead. Back in my garden studio I added to these marks, responding intuitively and remembering the happy feeling with upward strokes and layers of pinks and greys.
