‘St Ives Harbour’ is painted in oil on solid Oak block and was inspired by the colours of the sea and lichen and sketches of the boats moored at St. Ives Harbour.

I add glazes, pigments and mix the oil paint in with cold wax medium to create my art, and used rope, shells and driftwood found on the tideline at St. Ives Harbour to make marks and texture which I find helps connects me to the landscape whilst I’m painting.

This painting is designed to sit on a shelf or mantlepiece offering a burst of colour and interest to your home and a reminder of your time spent in Cornwall.

The solid Oak blocks I use are hand prepared and have a lovely lustre and tactile surface quality to them and have details in them that you notice on closer inspection.
