This painting is called, ‘The Power Within’ and is painted in oil on solid Oak block.

It is a unique original painting, yellow is such a joyful colour, reminds me of the fields of daffodils you find in the Spring in Cornwall.

I use glazes, pigments and mix the oil paint in with cold wax medium to create my art, I still get great joy out of the process and moments of wonderment! It was made by building up complex layers after layers of paint and then removing parts using shells and feathers to create texture. I love the way I excavate the layers to reveal the hidden colours beneath, which always bring me joy as if I’m remembering a happy memory.

The solid Oak blocks I use are hand prepared and have a lovely lustre and tactile surface quality to them and have details in them that you notice on closer inspection.

This painting is designed to sit on a shelf or mantlepiece offering a burst of colour and interest to your home and a reminder of your time spent in Cornwall.
